Notice and allow yourself to experience negative emotions. Most of the time, negative emotions such as sadness, shame, guilt, fear, and so on get a bad rep. These emotions are normal and okay to feel. Practice acknowledging the emotion and find healthy ways to cope. Lastly, remember, feelings don't last forever.
Recognize unhelpful thoughts and negative self-talk. Then move towards challenging and reframing them. Reframing is a fancy word for changing. Try replacing each negative belief with three positives.
Validate your experiences. The key to validation is acknowledging your experience non-judgmentally. Validating is also an excellent tool for you to practice on with others.
Change your mindset. Look at mistakes as learning lessons. Mistakes have a negative ring to them. Instead, when reflecting on something that didn't go the way you expected. Focus on what you can differently the next time or even the positive takeaway.
